Pakistan Faces Slow Internet Due to Submarine Cable Fault

A fault in one of the international submarine cables – the MENA, AAE-1 & SMW5 – caused degraded and slow internet speeds across Pakistan as several users reported problems browsing websites.

According to details, Transworld informed Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be facing slow internet speed in Pakistan due to multiple international cables being broken near Egypt.

“This is to update you that, currently, we are facing internet degradation due to multiple international cables (MENA, AAE-1 & SMW5) being broken in Egypt’s terrestrial segment, due to which westbound internet traffic is affected. We will further update you accordingly.” Transworld informed in their message about the slow internet connectivity in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, ISPs using PTCL as their bandwidth provider are also facing slow internet speeds due to increased load, which may worsen if the problem is not rectified soon.
