PTA Introduces Mechanism to Block Pornographic Content

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new mechanism to in order to block pornographic content in the country. According to the details, PTA has implemented a Central Domain Name System (C-DNS) policy enforcement mechanism to ban pornographic content in Pakistan.

The Central Domain Name System (C-DNS) policy enforcement mechanism will ensure an effective, automated, and seamless blocking of unlawful content in real-time as per Section 37 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA 2016).

The C-DNS mechanism was developed with months of joint efforts and close coordination with the telecom industry and other stakeholders. PTA has inaugurated the mechanism at their headquarters in Islamabad.
