The popular multiplayer gaming platform Roblox is down for users globally as thousands of users took to social media platforms reporting issues while connecting to games on different platforms, such as Windows App, Mobile App, Website, and Xbox App.
It is pertinent to mention that Roblox is an extremely popular gaming platform with over 43 million daily active users worldwide. It is a free-to-play gaming platform, but in-game currency is required to purchase certain items and mini-games.
According to reports, the problems with Roblox began on Thursday evening when player count suddenly dropped to 300,000 from over 3 million active people. The website is currently displaying the message, “Looks like something’s not working right! Thanks for being patient while we look into it.”
Meanwhile, Roblox status page shows that affected component include Users, Players and Creators. The page adds that Roblox is down for several services and locations, including Website, Mobile App, Xbox App, Games, Studio, Asset Delivery, Data Store, Game Join, Avatar.
The status page has confirmed that the root cause has been identified as an internal system issue and work their team is working on the fix, adding that many players are impacted by the problem. You can check for updates regarding Roblox on status.roblox.com.
However, the company has not made an official statement on Twitter or any other social media handles other than updating users on the Roblox Status Page.
Furthermore, there was a surge in reports of Roblox being down on DownDetector, which monitors websites and online services. Several users started reporting issues while connecting to games on the popular gaming platform.
