WhatsApp launched desktop version WhatsApp Web

WhatsApp has launched a desktop client service known as WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp Web mirrors the conversation and messages from your mobile device, so your messages will still live on your phone.

It’s a web app rather than a native client — and for now, at least, it seems to only play friendly with Google Chrome.

How to download Whatsapp Web

To start using WhatsApp Web:

  1. Open https://web.whatsapp.com/ in your browser.
  2. Use the WhatsApp app on your smartphone to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
  3. Once scanned, your chats will sync instantly and update in real-time.

You can also download the WhatsApp Desktop app for Windows or macOS directly from the official page: Download WhatsApp Desktop

WhatsApp Web is accessible through Android and iOS devices. You will need to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone, and you have to run WhatsApp Web from the Google Chrome web browser.

Previously, several methods were available to run WhatsApp on desktop, but none of those were official; however, this one is.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
