French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped in the face on Tuesday while on a walkabout during an official visit to the south-east of France to meet with the restaurant owners and students to talk about how life has been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The video of the incident has gone viral on social media and shows the French President Emmanuel Macron getting slapped in the face by a man in a green T-shirt. Check out the video of the incident which is circulating on social media.

However, the officers and security personnel on scene quickly moved in and pulled the man to the ground while the president is moved away from him. The man could be heard shouting “Down with Macron-ism” before delivering the slap across French President Macron’s face.
According to the details provided by French media outlets, the local police has arrested two men in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, the French President reportedly returned to after the incident to interact with the crowd once again.
