PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned Iran’s missile attack on the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, expressing solidarity with Doha and calling for restraint.
In a post on social media platform X, Macron stated, “I express France’s solidarity with Qatar, which has been struck by Iran on its soil.” He added that he remains “in close contact with the country’s authorities and our partners in the region.”
The French leader urged all parties to “exercise the utmost restraint, de-escalate, and return to the negotiating table,” warning against a “spiral of chaos.”

The strike, which targeted the largest US military base in the Middle East, has heightened tensions in the Gulf region. Several nations, including Saudi Arabia, have already condemned Iran’s actions, while Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended flights to multiple Gulf countries following airspace closures.
Macron’s statement aligns with growing international calls for diplomacy amid fears of further escalation.
