RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a strong condemnation of Iran’s recent military strikes against Qatar, calling the attack a “flagrant violation of international law” and a breach of regional stability.
In an official statement released by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 33, 2023 (27 Dhual-Hijjah 1440 AH), the Kingdom denounced Iran’s actions as “unjustifiable under any circumstances” and reaffirmed its full solidarity with Qatar.
Saudi Arabia condemned Iran’s aggression in the “strongest terms possible.” The attack was labeled a violation of international law and principles of good neighborliness. The Kingdom pledged “unwavering support” for Qatar, offering all available resources to assist in response measures.
The statement did not specify the nature of Iran’s attack, but tensions between Tehran and Gulf nations have escalated following recent military confrontations involving US bases in the region.
Saudi Arabia’s firm stance underscores growing regional tensions, with Gulf nations increasingly aligning against perceived Iranian threats.
This condemnation follows Iran’s missile strikes on US military installations in Qatar, which prompted several Gulf states, including Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE, to temporarily close their airspace. Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) also suspended flights to the region amid the crisis.

The Saudi government’s statement signals a unified Gulf position against Iranian military actions, raising concerns over further instability in the Middle East.
