The Federal Government has decided to suspend mobile phone services Islamabad for three days starting Friday (17 December 2021) on account of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers Conference.
UPDATE: Mobile Phone Services Will Not Be Suspended in Islamabad.
According to the details, the mobile phone services in Islamabad will remain suspended for three days from Friday (17 December 2021) to Sunday (19 December 2021), while the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been issued directives in this regard.
On December 4, the Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced that Pakistan will host the session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Islamabad on December 19 to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. Therefore, senior officers of OIC member countries will arrive in Pakistan on December 18.
Furthermore, the Foreign Ministry has also announced a holiday in Islamabad on 20 December 2021 in order to ensure movement and security of delegations leaving the country after the OIC meeting.

Moreover, it has also been announced that mobile phone services in Islamabad will remain suspended for three days starting Friday on account of security concerns during the meeting of Foreign Minister of OIC.
It is pertinent to mention that authorities in Rawalpindi have announced that educational institutes in the city will remain closed on account of the OIC meeting.
