Karachi Traffic Plan For Youm-e-Ali on 23 April 2022

Karachi Traffic Police have provided a detailed traffic plan for Youm-e-Ali (AS) on 23 April 2022 for the convenience of the people in order to avoid traffic congestion and plan their travel accordingly. According to the details, the procession will be taken out from the Nishtar Park to Imambargah Hussainian Iranian on 23rd April (1:00PM to 08:00PM) in connection with Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (AS).

The Karachi Traffic Plan the route of the processions as well as alternate routes to be taken by commuters to get around the city. Furthermore, the traffic plan also details the passage for participants so they can take part in the processions being held on the 21st of Ramadan.

Procession Route

The procession will start at Nishtar Park and pass through Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jamnis Road, MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street, Saddar Dawakhana, Preedy Street, M.A. Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaar, Kharadar and Nawab Mohabbat Khanjee Road before terminating at Hussainian Iranian Imambargah.

Alternate Routes

According to the Karachi Traffic Plan for 23 April 2022, the commuters coming from City side will be diverted towards Soldier Bazar (Bahadur Yar Jang Road), Coast Guard, Ankle-Saria to Jubilee and Garden Zoo to reach their destination. Furthermore, all kinds of traffic coming from the Nazimabad side will be diverted from Lasbela towards Nishtar Road and Karachi Zoo to reach their destinations.

Meanwhile, the traffic coming in from Liaquatabad side will be diverted on Martin Road towards Jail side. However, these vehicles will be permitted to proceed up to Jail and shall then proceed via Jamshed Road, Dada Bhoy Noroji Road, Kashmir Road, Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Shahrah-e-Faisal to reach their destination.

Moreover, all kinds of traffic coming Stadium Road shall proceed to M.A. Jinnah via New M.A. Jinnah Road. These vehicles shall be diverted at Dada Bhoy Noroji Road towards Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal, Shahrah-e-Quaideen to Shahrah-e-Faisal.

The Karachi Traffic Plan also states that traffic coming from Super Highway (Gulberg) will be diverted from Liaquatabad No. 10 towards Chowrangi No. 2 Nazimabad and shall proceed via Habib Bank Flyover, Estate Avenue Road, Sher Shah to Maripur Road, while all the vehicles will adopt the same route for return.

No traffic will be allowed to proceed towards the route of the procession from Guru Mandir (Roundabout). These vehicles will be diverted towards Bahadur Yar Jang road. Meanwhile, all commuter traffic approaching Numaish via Shahrah-e-Quaideen will not be allowed to proceed from the roundabout of Society Office behind Mazar-e-Quaid except those arrive for participation in the procession having stickers pasted on their wind screens. The vehicles without these stickers will be diverted from Society Signal to Ayesha Aziz Chowrangi towards Kashmir Road to reach their destination.

The Karachi Traffic Plan also notes that traffic going towards Saddar and other Colonies will not be permitted to proceed towards Empress Market from the junction of (1) Preedy Street / M.A. Jinnah Road, (2) Court Road Chowk, (3) Fresco Chowk, and (4) Abdullah Haroon Road, when the head of the procession reaches near the crossing of Corridor-III.

Similarly, all vehicle traffic proceeding towards Saddar via M.A Jinnah Road will not be permitted to proceed from its junction with Preedy Street, Aga Khan Road, and Mansfield Street. Meanwhile, no vehicles will be permitted to proceed towards M.A Jinnah Road from the junction of M.A Jinnah Road / Preedy Street when the procession clears the intersection.

Traffic coming on Aga Khan Road from Garden Zoo to approach M.A Jinnah Road will not be permitted to proceed towards M.A Jinnah Road. These vehicles shall be allowed till Ankle-Saria Hospital.

Passage For Participants

According to the Karachi Traffic Plan, the participants will follow the following passage to reach Numaish on below mentioned points.

The participants from Nazimabad wil reach at Lasbella, and move towards Garden Jamat Khana, Soldier Bazar No. 3, Light Signal to Nishtar Park. Meanwhile, the participants from Liaquatabad, Teen Hatti, Jahangir Road, Guru Mandir will move left towards Numaish Kamela.

Similarly, the participants from Society Light Signal will move towards Numaish and from Gulshan-e-Iqbal land Gulistan-e-Jauhar, the participants will reach via University Road’s Old Sabzi Mandi, Kashmir Road, Society Light Signal or PPP Chowrangi to Nawai Waqt.

The vehicles distributing Nazar / Niaz will enter from 014:00PM to 06:00PM from Tower to Bouton Market. Meanwhile, no vehicles shall be permitted to park along the route of the procesion.
