The Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) has confirmed that it is not extending the summer vacations for public and private schools and colleges in Sindh.

According to SELD, all public and private schools and colleges in Sindh will reopen from August 1 as the summer vacations are officially concluded on July 31. However, there were rumors spreading on social media that the provincial government has extended summer vacations in Sindh due to the bad weather conditions as well as Ashura.

Speaking in this regard, the SELD spokesperson confirmed that the provincial government has not considered any such proposal for the extension of summer vacations in schools and colleges in the province, adding that educational institutes will open as per schedule on August 1, 2022 (Monday).

It is pertinent to mention that the government of Sindh has announced summer vacations in the province from 1 June 2022 (Wednesday) till 31 July 2022 (Sunday) with the academic process continuing as normal from 1 August 2022 (Monday).

Meanwhile, the government of Punjab is also preparing for reopening of schools after summer vacations as the School Education Department has issued fresh timings for educational institutions from 1 August 2022.
