Viral Video Shows Punjab Police Forcing Prisoner to Act Like a Dog

Netizens are furious over a viral video that showed officials of Punjab Police forcing a prisoner to act like a dog. According to the details, the incident occurred at the Badami Bagh Police Station and it has sparked outrage amongst citizens, who have taken to social media to express their disappointment in the police officers.

In the viral video, the accused named Ashfaq alias Chan Gujjar was shown getting tortured by Punjab Police, who also forced him to act and bark like a dog. Furthermore, the police claimed that Ashfaq had been arrested on charges of drug peddling and he was a suspect in several other pending cases as well.

Inspector General (IG) of Police in Punjab Faisal Shahkar has taken notice of the incident and ordered to launch an investigation into the matter and take strict action against the officers responsible, whereas the Badami Bagh Police Station has also suspended the higher authorities

Capital City Police Officer Ghulam Mehmood Dogar also took notice of the matter and has sought report from the Superintendent of Police. “Abuse of authority and humiliation of humanity is beyond tolerance,” the CCPO added, while expressing disappointment in the incident.
