PMD Predicts Heavy Fog in Plain Areas of The Country

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted persistent dry weather with heavy fog during the coming week, especially in plain areas of the country.

Meanwhile, the weather is going to remain very cold in Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, North Balochistan, and parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions are expected in Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mansehra, Kohistan and Kashmir with chances of light rain with snowfall over the hills on 2nd & 3rd December.

Possible Impacts:

  • Foggy conditions may affect transportation means.
  • Air quality may be unhealthy for sensitive groups.

The PMD has advised travelers to remain cautious in order to avoid any untoward incidents.

It is pertinent to mention that several motorways in Punjab will remain closed during morning hours due to intense fog being experienced in the province.
