Federal Minister for Finance, Ishaq Dar, has announced that advance salary and pension will be paid to Federal Government employees before Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to Ishaq Dar, the decision for disbursement of advance salary and pension to retired employees has been taken after consultation with Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif.
He added that the Finance Secretary has been directed to make immediate arrangements in this regard.

Previously, the Punjab Government and Sindh Government announced a similar decision to pay their employees advance salary and pension on April 17.
Meanwhile, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet on April 20 (29 Ramadan) for the moon sighting for the month of Shawwal.
However, a spokesperson from the committee has already stated that it is unlikely that the crescent will be sighted on April 20 and Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on April 22, 2023.
