According to the notification issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), all commercial banks will remain closed from 21st to 25th April, 2023.

“The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed from 21st to 25th April (Friday to Tuesday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.” the central bank added.

It is pertinent to mention that the Federal Government has already announced five public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr from April 21 to April 25, 2023.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) will meet on April 20 for the Shawwal moon sighting in order to confirm the dates for Eid-ul-Fitr.

However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has stated that chances of crescent sighting for the month of Shawwal on April 20 are very low and Ramadan is likely to complete 30 days this year.

It means that Eid-ul-Fitr will likely fall on April 22.
