The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday on 1 May 2023 (Monday) on account of Labour Day and a notification has been issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department.
“The Government of Sindh has been pleased to declare 1st May, 2023 (Monday) as a public holiday throughout the province of Sindh on the occasion of Labour Day for all offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of Government of Sindh, except essential services,” said the notification.
Meanwhile, all private and public schools and colleges in the province of Sindh will also remain closed on Monday (1 May 2023) on account of the public holiday for Labour Day.

Labour Day is celebrated around the world on May 1 to express solidarity with laborers and encourage them to be aware of their rights.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also declared a bank holiday on May 1, 2023 on account of Labour Day. According to the details, the SBP and all commercial banks will remain closed on Monday.
