Sindh Imposes Section 144 Across The Province

The Government of Sindh has imposed Section 144 across the province in light of the riots and protests that broke out after Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, was arrested yesterday.

“The Government is satisfied that situation warrants to take immediate measures in order to maintain law and order and to avoid any untoward incident and public nuisance caused by miscreants and disgruntled anti-social elements.” said the notification.

Therefore, the Government of Sindh has imposed Section 144 that prohibits on gathering of more than four persons, all types of protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, and rallies within the territorial limits of the Province of Sindh.

It is pertinent to mention that Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan, was arrested from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday by Rangers personnel, who acted on the instructions of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The PTI Chief was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case, which alleges that Imran Khan, along with his wife and other PTI leaders, had made a settlement between the PTI government and a property tycoon, which caused a loss of nearly £190 billion to the national exchequer.

The Ex-PM has been remanded into physical of NAB for eight days.
