Naila Kiani Becomes First Pakistani Woman to Scale Cho Oyu

Naila Kiani, Pakistan’s most successful female climber, has become the first Pakistani woman to scale Cho Oyu, which is the world’s 6th highest peak at 8,188 meters (26,863 feet).

According to the detail, Naila Kiani reached the top of Cho Oyu at 12:30 pm Nepal Time with the team of Imagine Nepal, which also included Sirbaz Khan.

Naila took to social media via her satellite phone and confirmed that she had successfully summited the peak, which is her 10th peak over 8,000 meters.

She is the first and only Pakistani woman to climb 10 peaks over 8,000 meters, while she is also the only Pakistani to summit 7 peaks over 8,000 meters in the last six months.

Naila Kiani, the mother-of-two, also confirmed that she and Sirbaz stepped on the top together, making them both the first Pakistanis to summit Cho Oyu.

Kiani had first climbed Gasherbrum II in 2021 before summitting K2 and Gasherbrum I in 2022.

Since April this year, Naila Kiani has scaled Annapurna, Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nanga Parbat, Broad Peak, Manaslu, and Cho Oyu.
