MoHRE Announces Dh 96,000 Fine Over Failure to Meet Emiratisation Targets

Companies in the UAE are facing new Emiratisation target rules, affecting over 12,000 firms with 20-49 employees across 14 specific economic sectors. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) delivered notifications through its digital system, giving companies ample time to meet their hiring targets.

MoHRE Announces Dh 96,000 Fine Over Failure to Meet Emiratisation Targets

These targeted companies span various key economic activities such as information and communications, finance, real estate, education, healthcare, and more. Mohre is urging companies to swiftly meet their Emiratisation goals to avoid fines, set at Dh96,000 for each UAE citizen not hired in 2024, starting collection in January 2025. Similarly, fines of Dh108,000 await companies failing to meet 2025 targets, collectible in January 2026. Payment plans can be arranged with Mohre.

Mohre emphasizes the importance of targeted companies registering on the Nafis platform for support in hiring qualified Emirati professionals. The ministry plans to conduct training workshops to guide companies on meeting targets and utilizing Nafis platform support.

This Emiratisation decision for companies with 20-49 employees aligns with ongoing efforts for larger companies (50 or more employees) to achieve a 2% annual growth in Emiratisation of skilled jobs.
