The Caretaker Government has announced an iPhone installment plan that is all set to launch on January 12, 2024. According to caretaker Federal Minister for Information Technology, Umar Saif, the government has decided to provide iPhones on installments after persistent demand from freelancers.
However, the caretaker Federal Minister for IT did not provide any more details on the initiative such as iPhone models that will be available for installment or eligibility requirements for freelancers.
Saif did mention that the iPhone installment plan was being introduced through collaboration with telecom companies, which probably means that freelancers will be able to get the latest model iPhone through their network operator.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) will be responsible for managing DIRBS to block iPhones in case of non-payment of installments. We can expect more details regarding the iPhone installment plan in the coming days.
