Murree Entrance Closed For Tourists Due to Heavy Snowfall

The Islamabad administration has closed the entrance to Murree for tourists after consultation with Murree management due to snowfall at the hill station. According to the details, a large number of tourists have already arrived in Murree, which has caused traffic congestion on the roads and the matter has been exacerbated due to power outages and shortage of snow removal machinery.

The Islamabad Deputy Commissioner issued an order to restrict the entry of tourists into Murree to avoid long queues of vehicles on the roads connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi to the hill station and its surrounding areas. The decision has been taken after consultation with the Murree management.

However, he added that tourists will be allowed to enter Murree once the rush subsides. Meanwhile, those residing in Murree will be allowed entry after showing their identity cards. The Deputy Commissioner added that police and district administration officers are present at the 17th mile point and urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to Murree.
