Islamabad Traffic Update 28 April 2025

ISLAMABAD: The movement of Pakistan Super League (PSL) cricket teams scheduled for May 8, 2025 , from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM , Islamabad Traffic Police have announced heightened security and traffic restrictions across several key areas of the city. These include Serena Hotel, Peshawar Mor, Islamabad Chowk, and the Srinagar Highway .

Traffic disruptions are expected during this time due to increased security arrangements. Authorities warn that traffic along the Srinagar Highway may experience temporary delays. To minimize inconvenience, alternate routes have been recommended for commuters:

  • Residents traveling toward Blue Area, Sector F-6, and F-7 should use the H-8 Underpass .
  • Those heading to the Red Zone or Serena Hotel are advised to take Margalla Road, Jinnah Avenue, Ayub Bridge, and Nadra Chowk .
  • Commuters bound for Brass Takkia should also utilize Nadra Chowk .
  • For travel to Sectors I and H , the recommended route includes Rawalpindi Peshawar Road, IJP Road, and associated service roads .

Additionally, heavy vehicles will not be allowed entry into Islamabad during the operation to ensure smoother traffic flow and enhanced safety.

The movement of teams will also result in the temporary closure of Murree Road toward Serena and Faizabad via Rawal Dam . Citizens are urged to plan their travel accordingly and avoid these routes during the specified hours.

To assist travelers, Islamabad Traffic Police will be present at multiple locations , and real-time updates will be available through social media platforms and ITP Radio FM 92.4 . In case of any difficulty, citizens can contact the help line at 1915 .

Authorities advise all commuters to allow an additional 20 minutes in their travel schedule to accommodate potential delays and ensure a smooth journey.

This advisory aims to maintain order and facilitate hassle-free mobility during the event. The public is encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement personnel stationed across the city.
