LAHORE: A blast in Lahore’s busy Anarkali market area initial report one dead and injured 10 persons on Thursday.
A time device exploded in Old Anarkali area of Lahore that killed one man and injured several others who were shifted to Mayo Hospital for treatment.
Three injured including a woman were said to be in critical condition, hospital sources told.
Several nearby shops were also damaged due to the impact, Police and rescue teams reached the blast site immediately and kicked off efforts to shift the injured to the hospital.
Rescue 1122 personnel said that the explosion occurred outside a milk-shop in the busy market area, Security forces cordoned off the area as a probe into the incident went underway.
Moreover, the blast shattered the windows of nearby buildings.
Further details over the nature and intensity of the explosion were not received till the filing of this report.
Anarkali was previously targeted in a bomb attack in July this year, during which five people were killed and 50 others were injured.
