Pakistan wins Asian Hockey Championship

Pakistani nation unhappy with Cricket team performance but the good news is Pakistan wins Asian Hockey Championship 2013.

Defending champions Pakistan won the Asian Hockey Championship beating Japan three goals to one in the final at Japanese town of Kakamigahara this afternoon.

Japan were leading one-zero at the half time.Haseem Khan‚ Rizwan and Hammad Butt scored one goal each.

Pakistan were the highest-ranked team in the competition as world number eight, while India (11th) and Malaysia (13th) were also touted as the teams to beat before the tournament.

Pakistan led the group stage with 15 points whereas Japan gathered 10 points to qualify for the final; they both won three out of their five matches.
