Brenton Tarrant Smiled With White Power Sign Entering Court

NEW ZEALAND: Christchurch Mosque attacker identified as Brenton Harrison Tarrant, entered the courtroom with a smile on his face and a white power sign with his hands.

Tarrant, 28, showed no remorse as he entered for his hearing.

The resident of Dunedin on New Zealand’s South Island, wore white prison overall, with his hands chained to stand before the judge.

The attacker entered the room with a faint smile on his face which faded as the hearing started.

He was escorted by six security officers. No public was allowed to attend the hearing except media.

The hearing lasted for only a few minutes.

He has been charged with on count of murder. It is expected he have to face many more charges.

Next hearing is scheduled for April 5, 2019.

Brenton Tarrant was filmed and photographed in court but his face has been kept blurred due to court orders.

Police arrested three men – including Tarrant and Burrough – and a woman following Friday’s attacks.

Court documents stated Burrough was charged intent to excite hostility and ill will. He is also charged for publishing written matter which is insulting

So far 49 people have been reported dead with many missing.

Police Commissioner Mike Bush confirmed the death toll of 49, with 42 injured.

Tarrant is remanded without bail and will appear again on April 5. His duty lawyer did not apply for bail nor for suppression on information of the proceedings.

Forty-One Muslim worshipers were killed while performing their Friday Prayers at the Al Noor Mosque located in the center of the city

Seven more worshipers were slaughtered at the Linwood Mosque about 3 miles away.

Another victim died at a nearby hospital.

Tarrant broadcast his brutal mass killing live on Facebook and left behind a manifesto, in which he rambled about white supremacy and racism.
