Coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge to 38741, death toll reaches 834

The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 38,741 along with a death toll of 834. There were over 1,500 cases reported on Friday along with 32 more fatalities.

Sindh Health and Population Welfare Deparment reported 12 more fatalities in the provincial bringing the death toll for Sindh to 255 in their daily coronavirus update.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department reported seven more fatalities in their daily coronavirus update bringing the provincial death toll to 291.

Punjab reported 11 more fatalities according to the coronavirus update by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) bringing the provincial death toll to 245.

There was one more death reported in Balochistan according to the Provincial Health Department’s Daily Situation report. This brings the total number of deaths in the province to 31.

Islamabad also reported one more death according to the government’s official Coronavirus Dashboard at covid.gov.pk/stats/pakistan. This brings the total number of fatalities in the capital city to seven.

Gilgit Baltistan reported no new deaths in the region according to their daily coronavirus update. However, there were a few more new cases that were reported.

Global Update

The total number of coronavirus cases globally have surged past 4.6 million while the death toll has topped 307,000. Here are the top 10 most affected countries with a their coronavirus figures:

United States has the most amount of cases as well as deaths including the most reported numbers on a daily basis. European countries are recovering and reporting a decline in new cases and fatalities.

However, Russia is reporting high daily coronavirus numbers but considering the total number of infections in the country, the death toll still remains under control compared to other countries with the same amount of infected people by coronavirus.

Brazil is also reporting a rise in the total number of cases and fatalities including the daily numbers being reported.
