Nigar Johar becomes first female Lieutenant General in Pakistan: ISPR

Lieutenant General Nigar Johar became the first female in the history of Pakistan to reach the three star rank in the Pakistan Army according to DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar.

DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar took to Twitter to break the news of the newly appointed Lieutenant General Nigar Johar becoming the first female officer in the history of Pakistan to reach the rank.

The newly appointed officer belongs to Panjeer from District Swabi in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Before this, she was the third woman in the country to reach rank of Major General in the Pakistan Army back in 2017.

According to Dawn, her parents died 30 years ago in a car accident.
