BREAKING: Punjab Rangers called to secure sensitive location in Lahore

LAHORE: Governor Punjab on the advice of CM Punjab Usman Buzdar has called for 10 platoons and 2 backup companies of Punjab Rangers to maintain law and order in Lahore.

According to notification from Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Home Department, Government of Punjab has asked for Rangers deployment in different areas of Lahore. Rangers are to assist police in maintaining law and order situation on sensitive government installations all over the city.

This development comes on the heals of lawyers’ attack on Punjab Institute of Cardiology today which resulted in multiple deaths.

Punjab Rangers platoons will be deployed on the following location:

  • Governer House
  • Government official Residences I & II
  • Punjab Assembly
  • GPO Chowk, Mall Road
  • Punjab Civil Secretariat
  • Aiwan e Addal
  • Supreme Court of Pakistan, Lahore registry
  • Lahore High Court
  • Punjab Police/ IGP office Lahore
  • Punjab Institute of Cardiology, Lahore
