This decision was disclosed during a ceremony held at Alhamra Hall for Punjab Culture Day, where CM Punjab expressed gratitude to the citizens for their support. She emphasized the resilience of Punjabi women and their vital role within families.

Additionally, she urged parents to teach their children Punjabi and pledged support for the revival of Punjabi cinema. Reflecting on Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, Maryam Nawaz lamented the declining pride associated with the Punjabi language.

During the event, Maryam Nawaz was welcomed by Provincial Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari, who praised her dedication to promoting Punjabi culture. Notable attendees included Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Chief Secretary, Secretary of Information and Culture, and other officials.

The decision to introduce Punjabi language as a subject in schools signifies a significant step towards preserving and promoting Punjab’s linguistic and cultural heritage.
