Govt Revises Passport Delivery Time

The Director General of Immigration and Passport (DGIP) has announced a change in passport delivery time following unprecedented increase in the number of applicants.

According to the notification, a normal passport’s delivery time is now 21 days instead of 10 days, while an urgent passport will now take 5 days instead of the usual 4 days. However, the delivery time for a fast-track passport application will remain unchanged at 2 days.

The new and old passport delivery times are outlined below:

Furthermore, the DGIP also urged citizens to adhere to the designated office hours, which are 8:00 am to 1 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday.
