Islamabad Metro Bus Routes and Stops [Transit Map Included]

The Islamabad Metro Bus system offers a streamlined network of efficient and affordable transportation options, primarily operating on BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) and Metro Bus lines.

These routes ensure seamless connectivity across the Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan region, linking residential, educational, commercial, and healthcare hubs (PIMs & Poly Clinic).

Recently we updated our Islamabad Metro Bus Service Routes post and we’re also updating this for the convenience of our visitors.

Understanding the Bus Routes in Islamabad is not difficult; let’s break it down into three key routes it covers.

  1. BRT Main Line
    • Connects Saddar to the Pakistan Secretariat , offering high-frequency service for daily commuters.
    • Easily identifiable by its red color designation , this route prioritizes speed and accessibility.
  2. Airport Shuttle Route
    • Links Faiz Ahmad Faiz Road to Islamabad International Airport , providing a dedicated travel option for passengers and airport staff.
  3. Metro Bus Lines
    • Blue Line : Runs from PIMS Metro Station to Gulberg , serving densely populated and commercial zones.
    • Green Line : Operates between PIMS Metro Station and Bharakau , enhancing connectivity for suburban areas.

Enhanced Accessibility

These routes are designed with clear endpoint labeling (e.g., “Saddar to Pakistan Secretariat”) for intuitive navigation. Recent updates have expanded coverage, integrating new stops and optimizing schedules to meet growing demand.

Why It Matters

  • Convenience : Frequent service and dedicated lanes reduce travel time.
  • Affordability : Cost-effective fares compared to private transport.
  • Connectivity : Direct access to universities, hospitals (e.g., PIMS), and shopping centers.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
