The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a historic achievement: crossing 200 million telecom subscribers nationwide.
This milestone underscores Pakistan’s rapid digital transformation, with 150 million broadband users and over 2 million Fiber To The Home (FTTH) subscribers, reflecting the country’s growing connectivity landscape.
To celebrate this feat, PTA and major telecom operators (Jazz, Telenor, Ufone, Zong, and SCO) are offering free 2GB data + 200 on-net minutes valid for 24 hours on 20th June 2025. Subscribers can avail the offer by dialing *2200# across all networks.
PTA is also partnering with PTCL, Transworld, Nayatel, Cybernet, and Wateen to deploy free Wi-Fi hotspots for six months at selected HEC-recognized universities, including women’s institutions. This initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and empower students with uninterrupted access to online resources.
Additionally, mobile manufacturers have contributed 200 locally assembled smartphones for female SIM owners, to be distributed via computerized balloting across Pakistan, AJK, and GB.
“This milestone reflects our dedication to connecting Pakistan and fostering digital empowerment,” stated PTA. The authority remains focused on enhancing infrastructure and inclusivity to drive the nation’s digital future.
