The incident took place near the Talanga Dam Kirthar area in Sindh and the mugging was captured on video (GoPro). The robbers did not notice that a camera was rolling, taking only valuables such as cash and smartphones.

The GoPro footage captured the complete mugging incident and it has gone viral after being highlighted on mainstream media channels.

According to adventure Vlogger, Hamza Hashmi, who shared the story on social media:

This tragedy happened with me and my group on Sunday 29th January around 7am. We were originally going to Talanga Dam Kirthar but we met many people near Humdard University who were recently robbed on the way to Dhureji. They told us about the people description. So we decided to take a stop for breakfast and FAJIR. Then changed route to go towards Hub Dam.

We were only 15 mins away from HUB DAM when we’re overtaken by these guys and later they stopped us near a water crossing where we had to slow down.

It was a different experience being stopped by AK 47 and pistols being loaded on my face.

This can be very traumatic for many. And definitely was for many of us.

The reason to share is to raise awareness and remind you all to recite duaen and give sadqa before you leave. And remember, NOTHING IS MORE VALUABLE THAN YOUR LIFE. stay calm in such scenarios and don’t take stupid steps that might lead to harm to you or your companions.

Stay Safe. May Allah protect us all and make Pakistan safer for everyone.

Hamza Hashmi

The lawlessness and hopelessness of Pakistani adventure bikers touring across the country can be witnessed in the video and a lot of people face such circumstances while touring solo or even in a group specially in the Sindh province.

In a video statement, Hamza said, “even if you have a weapon with you (pistol) it won’t do any good in front of an AK47.”

The incident is alarming for the entire Vlogger community who put so much effort into buying and carrying their equipment to capture the beauty of Pakistan and share it on YouTube.

NOTE: It is requested to all the bikers/vloggers/YouTubers/TikTokers to be careful when traveling to such places at odd times.

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
