Coronavirus cases in Pakistan surge to 14885 with 327 deaths

The total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged to 14,885 with over 800 cases being reported on Tuesday along with 27 fatalities which is the highest in one day bringing the death toll up to 327.

Senator Murtaza Wahab reported seven more fatalities in Sindh in his morning report and the number hasn’t changed since then bringing the provincial death toll to 92

Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 10 fatalities in its daily coronavirus report which brings provincial death toll all the way up to 114, the highest in the country.

There were nine more fatalities in Punjab as reported by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) bringing the provincial death toll to 100. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar used to give daily updates on coronavirus numbers in Punjab however, he personally has not updated regard this for the last few days.

There was one more fatality reported in Islamabad bringing the death toll of the capital territory up to 14.

Global Update

Global coronavirus cases have topped 3.1 million and the number is rising rapidly every single day. The death toll has reached over 216,000 and United States has the highest reported numbers in the world.

United States alone has over 1 million cases which account for over 33 percent of global cases along with over 58,000 deaths making up over 25 percent of the total death toll. There are over 20,000 cases and 2,000 fatalities being reported everyday in the country.

Spain has the second highest coronavirus cases over 232,000 however, the number is no where near that of the United States. The death toll in Spain due to the pandemic is 23,822 which is the third highest in the world.

There are over 201,500 cases in Italy making it the third highest reported number globally along with the second highest death toll with 27,359.

There are over 165,500 coronavirus cases in France while the death toll is 23,660 although the daily numbers being reported have significantly improved compared to when the outbreak was at its peak in the country.

UK has a death toll of over 21,678 becoming the fifth country to cross the 20,000 mark. The number of coronavirus cases in the country are over 161,000 and there have been a slight improvement in the daily numbers.

Although Germany has a high number of cases over 159,000, the death toll is definitely under control at 6,200.
