E-Challan system is operational in Lahore

Lahore: E-Challan has been started in Lahore from today and initially, The Electronic Challan system is operational on Mall Road.

The Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has started issuing e-challan to traffic violators. To intimate the citizens to avoid getting e-challan tickets, PSCA has displayed warning boards on different roads in the city.

Initially, e-challan ticket service is active on Mall Road, however, PSCA to expand the service on various roads across the city from tomorrow. An Electronic Ticket will be sent to the violator via courier service.

The IGP has written to the CCPO Lahore that the only way to discourage traffic violations is to increase the fine amount

The CCTV  cameras are installed across the city to monitor the violations ( Day and Night ) specifically violation included:-

  • Over Speeding
  • Wrong U-turn
  • Breaking the signals 
  • Not Wearing Seatbelt
  • Not wearing Helmet (Bikers)
  • Parking violation

e-ticket will be generated by the system which later on will be sent to the violator via courier service.

The police helpline 15 is open 24/7 for any queries and complaints.

The same state of the art system was introduced in Karachi in 2016 and 2017, however, Karachi Traffic Police couldn’t monitor and manage it properly, meanwhile, PSCA seems serious about Implementing Traffic rules and e-challan the violators.

According to the Police, Hefty fines will be charged to the violators this time.
