In a tragic incident, a prominent cleric, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi, was killed in an attack at Gulistan-e-Jauhar in Karachi.
According to the details, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi was going back home after Fajr prayers in Block 9 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar when unidentified assailants approached him on a motorcycle and opened fire at him outside his home.
The body of the deceased was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal procedure.
Maulana Abdul Qayyum Sufi was also the principle of Madrassa Islamic Centre, and the Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Association.
The police have started a probe into the incident and further proceedings are underway.
