Lahore Blast Kills Three in Anarkali Area

Lahore blast has taken lives of at least three people, while over two dozen have been injured in the explosion that occurred in Lahore’s Anarkali area on Thursday.

The rescue official and police reached the scene immediately after the incident and cordoned off the area, while the injured and dead were shifted to nearby medical facilities.

Speaking to media after the incident, DIG Operations Lahore Dr Muhammad Abid Khan said that investigation is in the initial stages and forensic teams are trying to ascertain the nature of the blast that rocked Lahore’s Anarkali bazaar.

According to Lahore Police Spokesperson, Rana Arif, the bomb was attached to motorcycle but did not provide any further details.

Netizens have taken to social media to condemn the blast in Lahore and residents of the area are sharing videos and images of the aftermath resulting from the explosion that rocked Lahore’s Anarkali bazaar.

CM Punjab Takes Notice

Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the incident and directed the Inspector-General of Lahore Police to submit a report in this regard. He also instructed the officials to make sure that injured are provided the best possible medical facilities.

In a separate statement, CM Punjab condemned the blast in Lahore’s Anarkali area and said that those responsible would be arrested and brought to justice. “This incident is aimed at sabotaging the atmosphere of law and order. Those responsible for the blast will not be able to escape law.” he said.
