Jawad Sohrab Malik, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) on Wednesday with the prominent Saudi-based conglomerate, Al-Bawani Holdings, aimed at enhancing employment prospects for the Pakistani workforce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

During his visit to the renowned headquarters of Al-Bawani Holdings in Riyadh, Malik was warmly welcomed by Engr. Fakher Al-Shawaf, the CEO and Chairman of Al Bawani Holdings. Accompanying Malik were key dignitaries, including Ambassador Ahmad Farooq, Community Welfare Attache, DG Emigration Akram Khawaja, and Joint Secretary Emigration Aurangzeb, as stated in a press release received on Wednesday.
Al-Bawani Holdings, a diversified Saudi conglomerate, holds a significant position among the top five general contracting entities in the construction sector. With an impressive track record of completing and delivering approximately 250 projects in Saudi Arabia and currently engaged in billion-dollar projects worldwide, the company provided SAPM Malik with a comprehensive briefing on their ongoing projects during the visit.
Expressing confidence in the capabilities of Pakistani workers, Malik conveyed to the company chairman that the Pakistani workforce is well-trained and possesses the necessary skills and knowledge, making them exceptionally suitable for construction work in KSA.
This recognition of the competence of Pakistani workers led to a noteworthy development—the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and Al Bawani. This LOI establishes a fundamental legal framework to foster cooperation and coordination for mutual benefits, promising to unlock numerous job opportunities for Pakistani professionals and workers in the near future.
