Petroleum Dealers Call Off Nationwide Petrol Strike

The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Dealers Association (APPPDA) has called off the nationwide petrol strike on Thursday after successful negotiations with the federal government over an increase in their profit margin.

The announcement was made by the Federal Minister for Information Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Twitter.

According to the details, the federal government has agreed over increasing the profit margin by Rs. 0.99 per liter while assuring the petroleum dealers to review the profits every six months.

It is pertinent to mention that APPPDA had announced a petrol strike from 25 November 2021 after the government failed to increase their profit margin. This resulted in long queues at petrol pumps across the country.
