While the Galaxy S24 series boasts significant hardware upgrades, the spotlight falls on Galaxy AI, an array of software features leveraging artificial intelligence introduced by Samsung. One standout feature is ‘Instant Slow-Mo’, which transforms standard videos into slow-motion footage. This ‘Instant Slow-Mo’ feature is now confirmed for several older Samsung devices, as announced in an official post by Samsung.

According to the details, he Instant Slow-Mo feature will extend to the following Samsung devices:

  • Galaxy S23 Ultra
  • Galaxy S23 Plus
  • Galaxy S23
  • Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
  • Galaxy Tab S9 Plus
  • Galaxy Tab S9

Samsung also disclosed plans to enhance compatibility, expanding beyond the current limitations of 8-bit videos from 720p to 8K resolution, solely in the .mp4 format. Future updates will extend compatibility to 10-bit videos, 480p resolution, and files with the .mov extension.

Notably, this feature requires devices equipped with at least a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC or a newer flagship chip, excluding older smartphones and tablets. Anticipated with the One UI 6.1 update, the Instant Slow-Mo feature will be integrated into the aforementioned devices. Samsung previously outlined plans to distribute the latest One UI to eligible devices by the conclusion of H1 2024.
