Dubai International Airport Prepares for Peak Season with Travel Advisory

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has issued travel advisory ahead of the festive season rush, anticipating hundreds of thousands of travelers during the holiday period. As one of the world’s largest and most connected airports, DXB is gearing up for peak season, expecting around 4.4 million passengers from December 15 to December 31, with the busiest day projected to be December 22, hosting an estimated 279,000 passengers.

In preparation for the surge, DXB plans to offer a diverse range of activities across Terminals 1, 2, and 3. Festive attractions include a 3D photo opportunity in a giant snow globe, visits from festive performers distributing chocolates and gifts, and opportunities for young travelers to meet Santa and his elves, receiving special presents.

The airport aims to make the holiday travel experience memorable, with Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at DXB, highlighting their readiness and commitment to providing a cheerful and bright festive atmosphere. DXB’s state-of-the-art airport operations control center and dedicated teams are poised to handle the increased traffic during the holiday season.

As Dubai solidifies its position as a popular winter destination, an influx of arrivals is expected during the last two weekends of the year. Approximately half a million passengers, primarily point-to-point traffic, are anticipated between December 22-24 and December 29-31.

Despite the expected high traffic, DXB assures travelers of a hassle-free experience. New airlines and additional flights were introduced at the start of winter to enhance connectivity and attract more visitors to Dubai. The added festive-themed activities are designed to contribute to a magical and wonder-filled travel experience at DXB during the holiday season.
