The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai has announced a three-week spring break for most school students during Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr 2024. For Dubai private schools that commence their academic year in September, the break starts on March 25 and classes resume on April 15. Notably, this break coincides with Ramadan, potentially starting on March 11 or 12, and includes the anticipated Eid Al Fitr holidays around April 8 or 9.
The specific dates will be confirmed closer to the holidays based on moon sighting. KHDA emphasizes that private schools can tentatively communicate public holidays like Eid to parents but can only confirm them once declared by the UAE government authority.
Schools starting their academic year in April, such as Indian and Pakistani schools, have the flexibility to close in March with KHDA approval, ensuring they meet the stipulated 182 school days. During the break, Grade 9 and Grade 11 students will have bridge classes to Grades 10 and 12.
Additionally, schools beginning the new academic year on April 1 are expected to close again the following week for Eid holidays. This schedule aims to accommodate diverse academic calendars while aligning with cultural and religious observances.
