Pakistan rejects Indian assertion over Occupied Kashmir

521

Pakistan has rejected Indian External Affairs Minister’s assertion‚ claiming Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India.

Commenting on his remarks‚ appearing in a section of the Indian media‚ the Foreign Office Spokesman said it is unfortunate that Indian leadership continues to refer to the state of Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India‚ when the reality is clearly otherwise.

The spokesman said as a member of the United Nations‚ India should not overlook or undermine the numerous UN Security Council resolutions on this issue.

The spokesman said the Kashmir dispute remains a fundamental component of bilateral dialogue process and resolution of this dispute is vital for peace and security in the region.

He said India’s continued intransigence is counter-productive and is unhelpful in efforts to resolve this dispute.
