Punjab’s caretaker Chief Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, inaugurated the Gujranwala Expressway, which now seamlessly connects to the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway. The mega project has been completed within a five-month time-frame and it is a huge achievement for the city.

Chief Minister Naqvi commended the high-quality construction and praised the efforts of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) during his inspection of the expressway. The newly opened route is expected to accommodate approximately 8,500 vehicles daily, ensuring convenient and efficient travel for thousands of passengers.
In addition to the Gujranwala Expressway, Chief Minister Naqvi inaugurated a 74 km stretch from Gujranwala to Kot Sarwar Interchange on Hafizabad Road. He expressed gratitude for the dedication of individuals like Colonel Imran, emphasizing their tireless efforts for the project’s timely completion.
Looking ahead, plans include the development of a commercial area around the Gujranwala Expressway and the construction of an overhead bridge connecting it to Chan da Qilla. Chief Minister Naqvi also announced the initiation of the Safe City Project in Gujranwala, highlighting its utility for citizens and potential benefits for election monitoring.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including Provincial Ministers, Chief Secretary, Inspector General Police, and other relevant authorities.
