Pakistan Eid ul Fitr 2024 Holidays Update – Notification

The Federal Government has issued the official notification for Eid ul Fitr 2024 holidays in Pakistan. According to the details, the general public will observe holidays for Eid ul Fitr from April 10th to April 13th, 2024 (Wednesday to Saturday).

In the notification, it was stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved public holidays on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr as follows:

  • 10th April to 12th April, 2024 (Wednesday to Friday) for the offices observing five working days in a week; and,
  • 10th April to 13th April, 2024 (Wednesday to Saturday) for the offices observing six working days in a week.

It is pertinent to mention that several notifications regarding Eid holidays started circulating on social media a week before the official announcement. However, the notification shared above is the official notification issued by the Federal Government.

Furthermore, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has also announced bank holidays from April 10th to April 12th (Wednesday to Friday) for Eid ul Fitr, which means banks will remain closed for a total of five days, which includes the weekend.
