Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated sharply after India launched strikes on multiple locations within Pakistani territory early Tuesday morning.
According to Pakistani authorities, three sites, Muzaffarabad (AJK), and Bahawalpur (Punjab)—were targeted, resulting in at least three fatalities and over a dozen injuries.
India has confirmed the cross-border operation through an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming it was a “precision strike on terror infrastructure.” The Indian government has not released further details or casualties on their end.
In response, Pakistan’s military says it has launched retaliatory strikes. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the Pakistan Air Force may have shot down two Indian fighter jets inside Pakistani airspace.
According to an unconfirmed source, the Pakistan Air Force has shot down an SU-30MKI near Akhnoor, and the second Indian fighter jet was shot down by Pakistan’s Long range air defense.
The situation remains fluid, with both countries on high alert. Internet disruptions and increased military movement have been reported in several border areas.
This is a developing story.
