Proton Holdings and Al-Haj Group have finally launched their much-awaited Proton Saga in Pakistan at a virtual event that took place on their official Facebook page. This is the company’s second car introduced in the local automotive sector after their Proton X70 SUV.
Malaysian carmaker, Proton Holdings, has introduced three variants of the Proton Saga in Pakistan, including the Standard Manual Transmission, Standard Automatic Transmission and the Ace Automatic Transmission. However, the company has also launched a fourth variant which is a limited edition (100 CBU units only) Proton Saga R3.

The Saga competes directly with the Honda City, Toyota Yaris and Changan Alsvin. However, the car has a very competitive price tag which makes it a competitor of a few hatchback options as well, including the Kia Picanto, Suzuki Cultus AGS and the Kia Picanto, which are all priced similarly to the new sedan entrant.

Engine and Transmission
The Proton Saga comes with a 1299cc engine, producing 91hp and 120Nm of torque while offering options for both a manual and automatic transmission. However, the Proton Saga R3 Limited Edition comes with a 1332cc engine and also offers options for both manual and automatic transmission system.
