Coronavirus: All educational institutions will remain closed till 31 May

As the coronavirus outbreak gets worse and number of cases in Pakistan surge past 1,100, All educational institutions have been closed in Pakistan till 31 May 2020 and will be re-opening on 1 June 2020.

All educational institutions are closed in Pakistan till 31 May 2020 and this includes all public and private schools, colleges and universities.

Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar confirmed the news talking to the media about the decision that was taken in a meeting of the National Coordination Committee (NCC) in Islamabad.

All Educational Institutions shall remain closed till 31st May 2020. Decision was taken in the meeting National Coordination Committee on #Covid 19, upon recommendations of the meeting of Education Ministers held earlier today.#CoronavirusOubreak#PakistanFightsCorona#COVID2019

All educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities closed in Pakistan till 31 May.

This decision includes all public and private schools, colleges and universities throughout Pakistan to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Although universities are carrying out online classes, Twitter has been trending with hashtags #WeRejectOnlineEdu and #We_Want_Semester_Break as students across Pakistan are not satisfied by the classes being provided.

A lot of student say that the quality of lectures online is extremely poor and others say that they don’t have internet access or more specifically internet that is fast enough of online video classes in the districts they live.

Some students are even claiming to travel long distances to access internet for their online classes they can’t miss.

Online classes has completely flopped system. Lectures, Quizzes, Assignments are not going effectively due to internet issues. We have paid heavily for quality education. Our grades & Practical learning is very important.
