The Office of the District Magistrate, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), has issued an urgent notification directing all public and private educational institutions within the jurisdiction of ICT to remain closed on Friday, 9th May 2025 , and Saturday, 10th May 2025 .
This decision was taken in response to the prevailing security situation in the area.
However, the closure will not affect scheduled examinations. All internal and external exams, including international examinations, will proceed as planned on these dates. The authorities have emphasized that academic activities related to assessments will continue uninterrupted to ensure minimal disruption to students’ schedules.
The notification highlights the importance of prioritizing safety while maintaining essential educational processes. It directs key stakeholders, including the Chief Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education, Chairman of PEIRA, Principal Information Officer of M/o Information and Broadcasting, Director (Operations) of PEMRA, Assistant Commissioners, and DC Office Superintendent, to ensure compliance with the directive.
