The initiative, which was spearheaded by Mr. Ahmed Khan, the Additional Director of the Education Department, shows the department’s dedication to safeguarding the well being of students.

Mr. Khan expressed deep concern towards the trend of rising corporal punishment in schools and underscored the department’s commitment to fostering a safe and conducive learning environment.

The department has instructed schools to “ensure that no corporal punishment in any form is inflicted on the students” under the Sindh Prohibition of Corporal Punishment Act 2016.

The Education Department’s Spokesperson, Rafia Javed, also supported the initiative and assured the department’s vigilance is aimed at ensuring strict compliance and holding schools responsible for their actions.

She urged parents to promptly report any incidents of physical punishment.
