The Wrong timing and the wrong move by the Toyota Company Ecotec Card ! it was the Suzuki started to fit built in CNG kits in it cars some years before, This strategy paid off for the Suzuki in Pakistan. The growth in Pakistani CNG sector is huge with some unfortunate incidents of the blasts in CNG cylinders in some parts of the country, people started to trust more on the built in company fitted CNG kits.
Unfortunately following the trend Toyota has also realized the fact that it should offer built in CNG kits in Toyota Corolla 1300cc and 1600cc, They named it Corolla Ecotec. This is certainly a shift in strategy from Toyota is in BIG TROUBLE now since the Government has banned the CNG for vehicles above 1000cc classifications, Toyota company previous used to discourage the installation of CNG kits in its cars and voids the warranty after the installation of CNG kit in the car.
Now with the launch of this model Toyota has shown clear intentions that it will take all necessary steps to retain its market share, Corolla Ecotec is available in both the Xli and Gli versions of the car.
New Corolla ecotec 2012 is based on 16Bit ECU technology with i-spark which leads VVT-I engine to excellent performance. Safety and intelligent performance is the first priority of Corolla ecotec. It has a Gas Tank protector for effective use of space. It has a CNG tank with volumetric capacity of 60L, made from Chromium Molybdenum Steel, capable of receiving high pressure. All other features are the same as Corolla Xli and Gli.

Now those who owns this baby must be worried and specially those who got it booked waiting for the delivery, well I am not against the government’s stance but they should’ve allowed for 1300cc if one can afford to buy BRAND NEW GLi than owner must be able to fill the TANK because Suzuki’s success story is based on the ideology of economical engine ( CC ) but here it seems like TOYOTA not playing eco but flirting with market, instead of coming up with Hybrid they are using 10 years old tactics to capture with it completely awful !
Tomorrow 25th May, 2013 lets see how many 1300cc and 1500cc don’t get the GAS including these ones newly in CNG Race by default got the Yellow Flag !
1600cc shouldn’t be allowed at all on CNG .
